After becoming a first time mom back in December, I have realized all of the me time that I took for granted. I think that all moms out there can agree that your me time becomes pretty non-existent after having a new baby.  Even though I know that it is hard, us moms need to also remember to take care of ourselves. That is why Channing’s Studio and Spa has created these amazing packages just in time for Mother’s Day.

  • Wine & Roses: Starts with a Champagne Pedicure to help soothe tired feet and includes a glass of champagne, next will be a Rose Aromatherapy Facial perfect for treating dry sensitive skin and leave the spa with Eye Makeup Application. $165
  • Mother's Day Makeover: This package is the perfect touch up for any women offering a Blowout, a Brow Shaping, and a Makeup Application. $130
  • True Luxury: Treat the special mother in your life with the luxury pampering she deserves. This treatment starts with a Caviar Facial treatment which hydrates, softens lines and wrinkles. The facial wouldn’t be complete with a glass of champagne.  Next is a Champagne Pedicure and Hot Glove Manicure. The final steps of pampering is finished with a Blowout. $245
I had the pleasure of sneaking away on a gorgeous Saturday morning (thanks to my amazing husband) to get an amazing facial at Channing’s Studio and Spa. Let me start by saying that the atmosphere alone is worth the visit.  Located on East Oak Street, right off Michigan Ave., the studio and spa is a nice, small and private space unlike some of the other places I have visited to get facials.

First off, I loved not only the facia,l but the aesthetician Natallia was amazing.  Not only is she a certified aesthetician, but she is also a certified health coach. It was nice to learn that not only hormone change due to the pregnancy has caused skin issues, but what I eat can also cause skin issues. For example, I was talking about how all of sudden I have eczema on my arms but it only happens randomly, she mentioned that everything we eat affects your skin. She also mentioned that most skin diseases and issues are from what is going on internally with your body, crazy right?

Now, onto the best part the actual facial. It was seriously one of the best facials I have ever received. Based on my skin and concerns, Natallia recommended completing a treatment called Dermaplaning.  I had read about Dermaplaning way back when I was in college in an issue of Harper’s Bazaar.  It is where they take a highly concentrated solution of alcohol and swab it on the face. Then, they take a scalpel like tool and gently remove the solution which in turn removes the top most layer of the skin so that all that dry/damaged skin is removed.  I highly recommend getting this treatment if you have dry skin.

I plan on going back in 6 months to get it done again as I am now obsessed with this.  The remainder of the facial was just as amazing. When applying the facial oil after extractions, Natallia gave me that best facial massage I had ever received. It went on so long that I thought for sure the facial would have run over an hour. As I was getting ready to leave I went and checked the time and sure enough only an hour had passed and my skin was nice and soft as well as glowing. I call that a win win.
