1. Make the shorts refined. Add a blazer and/or button up blouse on top to make them much more professional and sophisticated. Tuck the blouse in and make sure the blazer hits just slightly above or below the waistband of the shorts to define your waist.
2. Go on the flipside and make them edgy. Add a leather and lace shirt in the same hue as the shorts to act like a romper and wear some booties and great jewelry to edge up the outfit and your overall look.
3. Toss on a denim jacket and vintage tee. This combination makes the shorts much more wearable for the day time and easily transitions the shorts into a more casual vibe.
4. Be aware of heel height. For example, heels and shorts can make your legs look super long, which is a plus, but sometimes a lot of a good thing is too much. For example, if the heels are pushing that 4 inch to 6 inch mark, then think about going for a pair slightly shorter for a less provocative look.
