Dream On Education is a non-profit organization that helps 6-8th graders from at-risk communities with tutoring, mentoring, and exposing them to various career and cultural experiences. A few months ago, Dream On partnered with five of Chicago's largest fashion brands including: PRSVR, Leaders 1354, AKIRA, Iridium, and FORD models for a fashion event where the students got first hand knowledge from people in the industry and competed amongst each other to bring their design to life. PRSVR volunteered to produce the design that won and will be hosting a pop up shop with the final product on August 27th 2-6pm at their store on 1822 W Grand Ave.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dream On founder and executive director, Kelli Haywood, pictured on my left and on my right is Margaret Williamson, the owner of the high end luxury store PRSVR. PRSVR clothing has been seen on celebrity clients including Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Nelly, and the cast on the TV series Empire.

I had the chance to interview a few of the Dream On students - pictured below is Jerimiah.

Q: What got you into fashion?
A: I love watching TV and liked what I saw people were wearing and I wanted to find where I could get those same clothes in stores, but my love for fashion truly blossomed when I joined Dream On.

Q: How would you describe your fashion style?
A: Laid back lounge clothes, not heavy but light and comfortable.

Q: What career path are you interested in?
A: I want to be an NFL player and fashion is something that I would want to fall back on if I were to get injured. I have always wanted to do my own thing and and very creative.

Q: What do you want Chicago to know about you?
A: I want them to know that I am smart and to remember the name Jeremiah Harris!

I also interviewed Evon who is pictured below beside PRSVR's signature shirt #blackwealthmatters.

Q: What got you into fashion?
A: I am really creative and love to draw.

Q: What do you like to draw?
A: 3D art, dripping flowers, and fantasy stuff.

A: Colorful, creative, and really shiny!

Q: How do you like to feel in the clothes you choose for yourself?
A: I want to be the center of attention and stand out in the crowd!

A: I want to be a lawyer because I like to argue with people and I also want to be an artist because I love to draw.
