I'm psyched to bring my lifestyle blog to all of you next month.  Art and Sol will represent a lot of what I have been fortunate to bring you through Halfstack.  A mix of art, entertainment, Chicago and its Latin culture, as well as a few things that are dear to my heART.

Dance is something that has shaped me in many ways as well as fashion.  Both I feel, are inclusive to the way Chicago ought to be seen and should equally be respected as art.  Not only will I feature some of the amazing talent born and bred in Chicago, but you will also get some inside looks on some of the productions throughout the city, and maybe a little journeying with me on a another dream of mine. (More details on that coming soon)

Art and Sol was meant to be a derivative of the commonly used phrase "heart and soul," which is often used as a candid expression of the sacrifices that artists put into their art.  Sol, as I have found out, has several meanings in a handful of languages as well as in astronomical terms.   The term sol is used by planetary astronomers to refer to the duration of a solar day on Mars.  Sol is also used in music as the fifth tone of the diatonic scale in solfeggio, an ancient 6 tone scale that is known to be used in Gregorian chants.  Although it ties in beautifully with what my content will consist of, my intention was the Spanish word for sun.  Purposefully done because of its source of light and what light can also represent; and utilizing the language that I grew up with and represents where I am from.

Just like "heart and soul," I hope you guys will join me in some soul-bearing, art philosophizing, dream-wandering, raw and entertaining side of what will be Art and Sol.  Check you guys again soon!

Peace.
