When Friday comes along, and I am craving a night out for dinner and drinks at a hip, unique restaurant, I never imagine I will find what I am looking for in The Loop.  Logan Square- yes,  Wicker Park - most definitely, but nothing downtown ever seems enticing enough for the hassle of dealing with the traffic and crowds.  That is, until Steadfast came along and rocked my world!

Located at 120 West Monroe, Steadfast is the latest restaurant concept created by The Fifty/50 Group.  Lead by Executive Chef Christopher Davies and Executive Pastry Chef Christopher Teixeira, Steadfast's menu offers New American cuisine, with a focus on seasonal ingredients.

After walking through the doors, from the bustling sidewalk, the modern, lounge-esque interior makes you feel like you were transported to a completely different neighborhood.  It's like a great escape from the city - a secret club house that you'll never want to leave.

Shortly after the celebration of their grand opening,  I visited Steadfast to sample a few of their food and beverage offerings!

Laminated Brioche / Serrano Ham, Manchego, Mustard, Quail Egg, Caviar

Wood Grilled Kale/  Bacon Vinaigrette, Sumac Candied Pecans, Smoked  Goat Cheese, Compressed Pear

Charcuterie

Spring In My Step / Aquavite, Carrot, Ginger, Gran Classico

It was no surprise that everything tasted just as amazing as it looked!  I was especially in love with the laminated brioche, with (edible) gold leaf detailing.  *swoon*  For the perfect start to your weekend or an exceptional end to your day, Steadfast is sure to be a new favorite - and always worth the commute.
