What's better than a new, modern Chinese restaurant opening up in Chicago's West Loop? A two-story restaurant and bar, featuring karaoke and late night eats! Austin Baker's latest restaurant is actually a bi-level creation; Sichuan-inspired restaurant, Won Fun Chinese, on the main floor, and karaoke/cocktail bar, 2 Fun Chinese, upstairs. Since opening in late November, Won Fun has made it's mark on Raldolph St., aka "Restaurant Row". Like taking a trip to Chinatown itself, sans the trek South of the city, the cuisine is exceptionally authentic, but with a modern twist. I will caution you though, if your pallet isn't prepped for spice (I'm a total wimp when it comes to spicy food), because almost everything on the menu is also authentically spicy! Even so, one of my favorite dishes that I tried was the Dan Dan Noodles, rated 2/3 on the level of spiciness. |

Won Fun recently announced that they will now offer full-service lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday through Saturday. So, now no matter what time of day it is, you can feed your craving for amazing Chinese food. I can't wait to visit 2 Fun again to enjoy some Dim Sum, and sing my heart out to "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler - that's my karaoke jam. Good thing their cocktails are so amazing, because I am going to need lots of liquid courage!
