The United States leader insisted the attack on ISIS tunnels and cave complexes underground in the Nangarhar province was a “successful mission”.
Dropping the so-called ‘Mother of All Bombs’ or MOAB in Afghanistan is the first time the massive non-nuclear bombs has been used.
The bomb was dropped by an MC-130 aircraft directly onto ISIS tunnels and personnel in the Achin district.
The damage is being assessed.
Speaking after the news broke Mr Trump said: “We have given them total authorisation.
“We have incredible leaders in the military. We have an incredible military. We are very pored of them.
“This was another successful missions.”
