The barefooted man had no idea what was coming for him as he strolled out of an internet cafe in Thailand.
Located in the Wiset Chai Chan District of Ang Thong, the shop was fitted out with a series of computers and chairs, as well as a camera overhead.
Security footage captured from three angles reveals the moment the man casually walked out of the door to the cafe.
What he didn’t see was a giant reptile lurking around the corner. The rat snake had wound its way half way up the wall and when the door open, it struck.
The slithering snake launched at the man and wrapped itself around him.
As expected, the man completely lost his cool, flying back into the shop and flailing his limbs in every direction in a bizarre dance.
After the snake refused to let go, the man threw his leg out to kick it off but ended up splayed on the ground instead, still jerking his legs and arms out in front of him.
In the process of his dropkick, he incidentally knocked over another man who had been looking on.
The other people inside the cafe drew back in shock, perching themselves on chairs and flinging furniture around the room.
Eventually the snake slid off into the corner of the cafe underneath the computers, as everyone else ran to the opposite side.
Rat snakes are not venomous but that didn’t make the experience any less terrifying for all those involved.
The reptiles instead use constriction to kill their prey.
The incredibly close encounter has gone viral since it was shared online.
It has already received more than 870,000 views on YouTube since it was uploaded this week.
One user commented: “He literally started running while he was still on his side” while another shared: “I laughed for five mins straight. Hilarious!”
