Unbelievable Lottery Winning Stories
Unbelievable Lottery Winning Stories

Some lottery winning stories are just unbelievable and so out of this world. Some people hit the Euromillions jackpot by sheer luck, even after missing death by a whisker. There is the Croatian man who missed death a record six times, and then went ahead and won a million dollars in a lottery draw.

Who can say whether Flane Selak is the luckiest or the unluckiest man in the world? He was traveling in a train to Dubrovnik from Sarajevo and as fate would have it, the train derailed and plunged into a river. He only had a broken arm and a few bruises to show for his trouble. Seventeen people died in the accident.

The next accident was when the plane door of his flight was ripped out and the force of the wind forced him and 19 others out of the plane at rocket speed. Surprisingly, he fell on haystacks but the rest of the passengers were not as lucky. They died. He got involved in three other car accidents where one car burst into flames. He only lost his hair. Despite all that, in 2003, he was the lucky winner of a million dollars in a lottery in Croatia.

Another unbelievable story is that of Donna Campbell who found out that her husband had won the lottery in the most bizarre way. She came across her husbands lottery win when she was doing a random search for his name on Google. Some husbands can be so secretive. Who wins money and fails to tell their wife? The wife would not have suspected had the husband not turned off the television and disconnected the phone line in the house. A postcard also showed his purchase of a new house. She could not stand the betrayal and she filed for a divorce, but not without claiming part of the money that her husband had won. However, the man, Ramdass Campbell, could not be traced to be handed the court papers.

Unbelievable but this has to be the height of desperation. Timothy OBrien mistakenly thought that he had missed his favorite numbers that would have won him the National Lottery draw. He committed suicide. He shot himself in the head, because he could not believe that a five-week ticket he had been holding had expired before the draw. Had he waited, he still would not have won the money because his matching numbers were only four out of the six needed. Only four of the six numbers matched and that would only have gotten him 47 pounds.

Some winners wished they had never won any money. They say that their lives were much better before the money came, and left. There was Jack Whittaker Jnr who won 315 million dollars and blew it all on worldly pleasures. He squandered the money on casinos, partying, strip clubs and limousines. Good thing is that he did some good because he gave 10% to charities and used $14 million to open the Jack Whittaker Foundation. However, when money is in the picture, evil is likely to overrule good. The Eurojackpot lottery, as young as it is, also has its sad stories that we shall check out later.
