If you are in Los Angeles, California and you are looking for things to do and places to visit, I have the perfect idea for you! I am one of those people that when I am going to visit somewhere on vacation, I look up many things to do! Upon research I stumbled upon The Broad Museum which is right in the heart of downtown Los Angeles .
"The Broad is a new contemporary art museum founded by philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad on Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles. The museum is designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler and offers free general admission. The museum is home to the 2,000 works of art in the Broad collection, which is among the most prominent holdings of postwar and contemporary art worldwide".
On exhibit right on the first floor is Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirrored Room, a mirror-lined chamber housing a dazzling and seemingly endless LED light display. I went inside of this room and it was amazing. You are surrounded by so many mesmerizing twinkling lights. Exhibit goers each get 45 seconds inside! I was able to catch it on video - which will be on a California vlog - so check back as I will be uploading it soon!
This has to be one of my favorite photo's I took while I was in the exhibit. I love this sign. It is hypnotizing to watch it flicker. It was one of the coolest displays of modern art! With the amount of amazing pieces of work, beautiful culture and inviting atmosphere, I couldn't believe this museum was free to get into. I visited with my friend and we both took about an hour and a half walking around entranced, just checking out all of the displays and exhibits. It was really a fun experience!
