If you are looking for a wide, soulful and expansive, Nuevo-folk sound … Rose Cousins is your gal. She will be playing Evanston SPACE at 7:00PM on Sunday, March 5th.
Don’t miss her tender, yet explosive vibe that won her a Juno award for her 2012 album “We Have Made A Spark”. While her unique sound also found its way into several TV shows including Grey’s Anatomy.

Whether it’s a melodic folk jam, or an acoustic dark country ballad, her sound and intense lyrics call you to explore the longing within. Rose Cousins bravely explores the shadowy corners of the heart, as she gracefully seeks answers through her music.

Be prepared, this multi-faceted singer, songwriter and musician, will take you on a deep exploration of your own heart with the February release of her highly-anticipated new album – Natural Conclusion – recorded with Grammy Award-Winning producer Joe Henry.

Just as her songs embrace sadness, pain, and longing, these emotions are counterbalanced in performance by quick, wry wit. A true artist, she is also a longtime film photographer, and has spent the last few years shooting, developing film and printing photos using the dark room at the Nova Scotia School of Art and Design.

Cousins also held a deep desire to develop skills in co-writing, so she began in Nashville in the fall of 2014. Throughout the following year, she traveled to Los Angeles, Nashville, Toronto, Ireland and Boston where her focused creative time yielded dozens of songs, photographs, relationships and a much-needed change of pace.
